Prerequisites

  • Litematica and MaLiLib installed for your Minecraft version
  • A world containing the build you'd like to save

Creating and saving a schematic

  1. Open your world with Minecraft, Litematica, and MaLiLib loaded.
  2. Equip the Litematica tool. By default, this is a stick.
  3. Switch to Area Selection mode by holding Ctrl and scrolling your mouse wheel until 'Area Selection' is active.
  4. Select your build. Left-click one corner of the structure, then right-click the opposite diagonal corner to create a selection box. Use Alt + Scroll to adjust the edges of your selection.
  5. Open the Litematica menu by pressing M.
  6. In the Area Selection Browser, find your active selection and click Save Schematic.
  7. Give your schematic a name and confirm. The .litematica file will be saved to your schematics folder.

Schematic file location

Your schematics will be saved to the `schematics/` folder in your Minecraft instance directory:

  • Windows: `%APPDATA%\.minecraft\schematics\` (or your custom launcher instance folder)
  • macOS: `~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/schematics/`
  • Linux: `~/.minecraft/schematics/` (for Flatpak installs, use `~/.var/app/com.mojang.Minecraft/.minecraft/schematics/`)
